Dr. Boan (Ph.D., Biola University’s Rosemead School of Psychology) has extensive experience in healthcare quality and safety, public health, community resilience and capacity building.  he has previously served as the vice president for research and development for the Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care (Maryland) and Executive Director for Innovation, Joint Commission Resources and Joint Commission International.  Before joining WEA Dr. Boan was the Co-Director of the Humanitarian Disaster Institute at Wheaton College, and Associate Professor of Psychology.

Dr. Boan’s research includes organizational culture and its relationship to performance, developing community resilience, and the impact of holistic ministry on community health and resilience. His recent projects include developing community resilience in the Philippines, Spiritual First Aid in Ukraine, ending violence against children (in partnership with World Vision).
